St. George, Fishers IN is celebrating their centennial this fall. Their local chapter of St Ignatius ministry team partnered with their Charity ministry team to declare this summer a “Summer of Compassion”. They led their parish to 100 Acts of Kindness in feeding the hungry. Over 130 people volunteered through three “Order in Action” events:
1. Fishers Youth Initiative – in June they helped distribute meals to the food insecure in the local community
2. Rise Against Hunger – in July they packaged over 10,000 meals to be distributed to many countries and packed enough meals to feed 37 children for an entire year!
3. The Lord’s Pantry at Anna’s House – in August they helped to distribute meals to approximately 250 souls in the Indianapolis community.
